[Playerstage-users] Player installation

Hello,
I am very new to linux so bare with me and please try to help.  I am trying
to install Player by following the directions on this page -->
http://playerstage.sourceforge.net/doc/Player-2.0.0/player/install.html

The *configure* step seems to work fine and then i  type *make* and that
seems to work as well but then i'm stuck.  i type *make install* but it
seems to give an error, rather a bunch of errors about *cannot create dir  *and
such.

ring a bell to anyone ??

Hello,
you need root rights to install player in the default location /usr/local/
so type su enter your root passwort and type make install.
Or you can do a local installation
