Hello, I have commited a patch to allow the softsynths to respond to
MIDI patch changes and wheel changes. It's in the 0.9 CVS REL07 branch.
It currently works with 'Fluidsynth', 'Fluid', and 'Deicsonze'.
(The other softsynths? This doesn't really apply to them, except perhaps
vam, but I couldn't quite figure out vam's code to modify it. Vam has a
few bugs itself.)
However, 'Fluid' still does not respond to the patch changes.
Further, Fluid does not restore the soundfont upon reloading.
I *could* bring 'Fluid' up to date, but 'Fluidsynth' already does
everything we need. So 'Fluid' would then be redundant.
I doubt if anyone is using the obsolete 'Fluid'. Use 'Fluidsynth' instead.
** So, shall we eliminate 'Fluid'? Less confusion for new users!
(Why do we have a configuration option for Fluidsynth, but none for Fluid?)
