I have not looked at your patch yet.
I think next time it is much better to post a patch to the PATCH tracker
on sourceforge. That way anyone who needs this can already apply the patch
himself and you're sure it will not be lost in the archives. As long as no
developer (or you yourself) closes the tracker item it stays open. But I
must admit there are some patches living a lonely life in there too,
starving of attention.
Nonetheless, thanks for the patch in the first place. If I find the time I
will look into it.
