I have a little question about the V_BACKUP_BATT pin on the 24 pin flat cable connector of the verdex_pro.
I understand that this pin is used to power the RTC when no power is applied to the gumstix. On the wiki, I can understand that we should use lithium-ion battery, and if we want to use ni-mh, we have to use a boost converter.
Is there any problem to use pure lithium cell ? Do the RTC will trickle charge the battery and that is why we need a rechargeable cell ( I don't think so with the power management chip )?
