I had some changes I wrote a while back for the Narrative Web plugin,
to have more columns available on some of the pages. Columns I wanted
included "death date" and "partner/spouse". Someone else on the
gramps-user list mentionned they wanted "parents" as a column, so I
implemented that as well. All these columns are optional.
There gramps feature report with my patch is:
http://bugs.gramps-project.org/view.php?id=974
I've now been asked:
>If you would like the patch to be integrated into the Gramps trunk,
you might want
>to try to build some consensus by posting on the gramps-devel or gramps-users
>mailing list.
The comment so far in the feature report is:
>Currently the Surname page and the Individual pages are index pages. They are
>purposely concise so that people can use them to quickly find the informational
>pages they are looking for. Adding multiple columns will change the
nature of these
>pages from indexing to informational. I am reluctant to make such a fundamental
>change without support of the users who use the report. Making the
columns optional
>helps a little bit, but we can't make every aspect of the report
optional to customize
>it for each individual user's needs. Users find too many options confusing and
>disruptive.
>
>If most users support the columns, we would add the columns without any user
>options. If many users support the columns, we would add the columns with the
>user options. But if only a few users support the columns, we would probably
>leave the feature out.
There are screenshots in the feature report, or if you're already
familiar with NarrativeWeb you can see the "new" output here:

If anyone has comments, please reply to the list of post your comment
