I tried using the sql extensions for saxon the other day, and ran into a
problem right away with the MySQL jdbc connector. I was basically
getting a vague JDBC connection error message. I checked my JDBC
connection url many times, and I've used JDBC to connect from other
systems before, so I know what i'm doing there. (I aslo know how to
properly setup my classpath)
Seems like everything I could find while searching on the sql exntesions
for saxon basically said "it's not production quality" but most of what
I found was from a couple years ago.
I decided to just change my approach and use XSLT to generate actual SQL
to be processed by the DB server in another step.
My question is, did i give up too soon on the sql extensions, or is that
the right path to take for something that need to be production quality?
