I'm currently running a colinux 0.6.3 prerelease (the 20050524 build)
and am experiencing occasional crashes which cause the Linux VM to
simply exit (Windows continues running adequately). I've also
experienced this with 0.6.2, although earlier versions seemed to be OK.
My system is as follows:
Windows XP SP1
Pentium II-400, 128Mb RAM
Virtual machine configured with 90Mb of memory
Machine has two disks on separate IDE channels, one dedicated to
windows, the other dedicated to Linux
SuSE 9.x Linux installation (originally 9.1, but some packages have been
upgraded to 9.2).
Using the TAP network driver, with the virtual device bridged onto my
wireless LAN by XP
The crashes alway occur during periods of heavy network traffic (e.g.
when copying files between systems on my LAN using scp or rsync)
although not predictably so -- sometimes a transfer of about 10 mb will
trigger it, whereas sometimes I can transfer hundreds of mb without
issue. I have run the daemon both as a service and from the command
line to see what happens, the problems occur in both situations. The
last time I ran it from the console there was some unusual output that
may be a crash dump of some kind. The last few lines are reproduced
here; if you want more I have about 100 of them, but the top of it seems
to have been lost.
Any idea what might be wrong?
