I currently have a LIRC driver connected via lircd to VDR (a free
software digital video recorder).
I am having problems with key repeats (like bounce/debounce in
electronics but with a different root cause). Basically when I press up
on the remote control I almost always receive two up events which makes
selecting items from a menu pretty tricky since it generally skips over
the one I want.
Obviously suppressing it in the app. is fairly easy but the problem
would reoccur in other applications.
My question is therefore is where is the proper place to suppress the
unwanted keypress, the driver, lircd or the application.
If it is in the driver can anyone recommend any prior art for me to copy?
