My thanks to Nick and Alex for handling my last two problems. Once I
had the proper Fedora RPMs and ran the right commands the last step was
to alter my /etc/udev/rules.d/lirc.rules to say: KERNEL="lirc0",
NAME="lirc%n", SYMLINK="lirc". It seems my lirc was being named lirc0
and the lirc.rules was formatted incorrectly.
Here's my last two problems. How do I force the lirc_gpio module to
load automatically? I tried adding "alias char-major-61 lirc_gpio" to
my modprobe.conf file but it doesn't do anything. As of now I have a
bash script load at startup that reads:
This activates my remote, but it can make the system hang a bit at
startup or even crash nautilus. Besides, I'm sure there's a better way.
My other problem is that the remote is using the lircd.conf designed for
it but the buttons respond wrong on double presses. For example, if I
press 3 once in xawtv I get channel three. If I press 33 I get channel
37. 4 gives 4 but 44 gives 52. Strange.
So my big concern is loading the module properly.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
