I was told to try the new 1.2.5 beta version of gpsbabel and use the
Hiketech format, and that allowed me to convert the .gps format to a
.gpx and I now can view my tracks for the first time.
As for downloading with gpsbabel I can't get that to work with my serial
to usb cable. What that is I don't know. I have not been able to get any
program to do this except Link2GPS.
Here is the cable I have:
And the drivers I received for it stopped working around OSX 10.2 but I
found a hack to get them working again. I just went into the "info
plist" file and removed the below text. (may not be the right case)
That allowed the drivers to work again, and they still do. But this may
have caused some sort of problem with other programs????????
Anyway, for the first time I am able to use my GPS properly using the
Hiketech format in gpsbabel so I am happy. I will have to consider
purchasing a different cable if I have anymore problems. My daughter has
a PC which I can easily use, but I prefer to use my Mac. Up until now it
has been frustrating.
Thank you all.
