Shawn,
We can share notes.
I'v got a Dell D600 with the True Mobile 1400.14e4:4324
Suse 8.w with kernel 2.4.20
I installed ndiswrappe 0.8 from source, just as documented.
I downloaded R63259.EXE from Dell, which is the "1400" version, but I
think this also covers the 1450, according to the bcmwl5a.inf
DriverVer=04/09/2004, 3.40.69.0
CatalogFile=BCM43XXA.CAT
I then defined the card in YAST, or using /etc/sysconfig/network:
BOOTPROTO='dhcp'
MTU=''
REMOTE_IPADDR=''
STARTMODE='onboot'
UNIQUE='QOEa.OTMK_jUeId7'
WIRELESS='yes'
WIRELESS_ESSID='Nortel_de_wob_a'
WIRELESS_KEY='xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xx'
WIRELESS_MODE='Managed'
WIRELESS_NICK='Dell True Mobile 1400'
WIRELESS_NWID=''
Anyhow, it works sort-of, mostly. When I configure Encryption, the
driver never recieves anything from the network, and most of the
iwconfig commands fail, but at least the driver loads.
Hope this is helpful.

The first time I restarted after ndiswrapper -m 'ing, (just now with 9pre1) while it was shutting down the services, I had repeated error messages from ndiswrapper. It was something to the effect of spinning a lock it already owned.
