Folks,
In follow up to the earlier graphics card discussions, I bought a GeForce FX
5200 and it is now working fine with OpenEV on Linux (as well as a game I
like to play). Oddly OpenEV is currently crashing on Windows XP with the
provided driver, but I will look into that.
No huge issues installing the support on Linux. I did end up getting the
install file from NVidia directly. The card markers web site had rpms and they
didn't work with my kernel. Nvidia itself had a shell script that presumably
rebuilt the kernel driver from source to avoid kernel version dependencies.
Between this, and having mastered getting sound to work a few months ago,
I now never need to leave linux!
