This is called clipping. By any chance did you move the gain control
(volume slider) while you were editing? If so, you wouldn't have
heard the clipping, but it got saved anyway. This is the bug, and
we're actually going to get rid of that slider, and instead put a
gain control in each track.
In the meantime, you should be able to avoid this by using the
"Amplify" effect to reduce the volume of everything a little.
