No. 1, thanks to Wiggins d'Anconia for a prompt answer on my previous
post. I've customized keybindings.cfg and - it works :)
Now there is another thing I would like to do. My screen has two virtual
desktops and I need a method to switch between them quickly with the
The default combination is to scroll the middle wheel (buttons 4 and 5,
as defined in /etc/XF86Config). However, I have microsoft's IntelliMouse
(legacy reasons - not my choice), which scrolls down quite nice (button
4), but it makes it EXTREMELY difficult to scroll up, especially without
pressing at the scroll at the same time (thus invoking button 2 and
not button 5).
The concequence is that I can scroll down to the next desktop (from 0 to
1) with ease, but now the other way around. (back from 1 to 0). It's
possible, but it is in no way convenient.
A solution would be that scrolling the wheel down continiously would
first switch to desktop 1, then to desktop 0, and round again. That is,
both events (slide to previous / next) need to be bound to the same
button. Or, the desktops need to be in a "rotatable list" formation.
Can that be done? Or is is just another idea for the next version of E?
