How does it compare to the help files in PlatformSDK in completeness
and quality?

can you confirm that this is really just win32 api documentation
and nothing else? I ask because this new file is shown as 17091 Kb
on that ftp server, while the old file is only 5566 Kb. Perhaps
they threw in OLE and other stuff like that? It's not that I'm
too lazy to try it myself; it's just that it would take me at
least several hours to download it by modem.

It's not bloated as psdk html help - all files in the help directory of 
July2000 PSDK take >200MB (that's too much for my modem). 

It doesn't contain any info on win98/2k/ME specific functions, though.

Quality? IMHO, psdk *.chm files contain more broken links.

It contains newer win32.hlp (than the old one in the 5M zip which was 
built before NT4, if I remember right;) plus other useful things (OLE, 
multimedia, winsock2, mapi...). Also, I've found many examples.

Could any kind soul please tell me how to read these *.chm files?
(I work on Linux and make cross compilation for Windows executables).
Is this some kind of zipped html? Or is there any (open source) program,
which is able to read that stuff?

Hi There,

I have succesfully compiled wxWindows 2.2.1 using Mingw and was hoping
to be able to compile it into a DLL.  I have read  src/msw/install.txt  but
it only
mentions creating DLL using MS VC++.  This is done by specifying
WXUSINGDLL=1
on the make command line.

I tried this with the makefile.g95 makefile but it didn't create a DLL.

I have also searched the Mingw mail list archives and wxWindows mail list
archives
and I can't find any information except performance issues regarding
creating DLL's
with Mingw.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?
