For those that may be having similar problems, here is my solution. I hope
it helps to save some time and many CPU cycles at Google.
The latest recipes in the gumstix repository are out of date and don't work.
Get the latest ones from OE. You will need the whole powervr-driver tree so
you get the updated patches as well as the recipes.
If you are building on a 64 bit system (i'm using Ubuntu 11.04 64) install
the lib32 package.
The TI driver installer only works in 32 bit environments and doesn't fail
with any error so you and bitbake don't know that it's failed.
