I'm using DL 1.2.3 486 on an old Thinkpad 760LD as an Apache web server.
If I mount a pcmcia flash drive, and try to use that as my web directory containing pages to be served, all the served pages get a 403: Forbidden error when I try to access them.
I can't chmod or chown either the files or the directory - no error message, but nothing happens.
If I copy the files to another directory, the pages get served.
I've tried "mount -o rw /dev/hde1 /mnt" and "mount /dev/hde1 /shm/usr/share/apache2/default-site",
but nothing other than copying files seems to work.
Is grsec getting in the way? If so, what do I do to let web users access files on the PCMCIA flash drive?
Should I upgrade to a more recent version, possibly an SMP version?
