I want to split a ponderous GRAMPS file into smaller manageable family files.
I first tried Family Trees=>Import using the "common ancestor" filter
applied to the "lowest" person on the particular tree to be extracted. But,
that doesn't capture some records (eg: relatives by marriage).
I think that I have located these missing records by doggedly trawling
through the tree. But - is there a more thorough and certain way to extract
all the appropriate records? Will a second import using the "all
descendants" of the "highest" person on the tree achieve this without
duplicating half the records?
Also, I want to do the reverse - to remove those transferred records from
the "parent" file.
I'd appreciate some guidance. Thanks
