Merged with a few minor changes, thanks a lot!
I'll have a closer look at the details of the ES51922 protocol and
whether the new es519xx driver can already handle it, then convert the
UT61E to use it and drop the old es51922.c driver. This needs a lot of
testing, but in principle your code looks generic enough indeed so this
should work out fine.
A few questions:
- Do you know of any USB-based (or non-RS232) cable for this DMM? If
not, we can drop the "_SER" / "-ser" suffixes in the names. Those are
only for the special case of UNI-T DMMs, where you have two (well, three)
different cables, one RS232 and one with USB/HID and thus need
different handling and names. If there's no USB cable for the
ISO-TECH DMM, we can safely drop the "_SER" etc.
- I changed the packet size from 2*11 to 11, not sure why that would
be double the size there. The packet is surely 11 bytes, right?
