I'm not a FUSE dev, but: How is this related to FUSE at all?
According to http://www.ferrobackup.com/ftpuse ftpuse uses DOKAN.
It might be the case, that the FTP server just hides ".myfolder" from
the directory listing. Have you tried just to "cd .myfolder"?
