Video out plugins expect mpeg range yuv data (y=16..235, uv=16..239).
RGB sources (still images and audio visualisation effects) need
to be converted first.
Unfortunately, that conversion produces full range samples (0..255),
which leads to clipped whites and blacks.
This is _not_ a high end videophile thing. It is a real bug.
And it was easy to fix.
