Hi,
I am familiar with this problem, though I had never really worried
about it. I know it will get fixed up during the next parse.
The overlays used don't specify a value for front-advance, so you
get the default behavior. I tried setting front-advance on something
else recently in SRecode (srecode-fields.el) and found a way to make
it work in both the Emacsen I have. I should port that to semantic-fw
(where the compatibility macros are) and fix these things in
semantic-decorate.el.
I'll add it to my todo list.
