I don't use makefile templates. I wrote some CMake macros which describe
dependencies and action (like running latex). CMake maps them to Makefile
The reason for doing it this way is
epix(http://mathcs.holycross.edu/~ahwang/current/ePiX.html), which is a lib
for drawing mathematically pictures using C++. The building of the
executables which spit out eepic/tikz/pstricks code is integrated into the
latex building process. If I change the c++-source of a picture the
executable is build, executed and pdflatex runs.
At the moment all tex-sources and pictures(png, eps) are copied to the build
directory(out of source building). Now I playing with the --output-directory
option to avoid copying and to make it able to use kile's editor features(at
the moment I'm using texlipse for eclipse). It works fine with pdflatex, but
the latex->dvips->p2pdf chain omits the picture.
However, I don't think its what you have in mind for kile's makefile
generation and I don't have any pointers to makefile templates.
