individual songs on an LP into separate tracks for transfering to a cd.
I appreciate your help.

We have a tutorial on this you can read:
That page includes some instructions for preparing your WAV or AIFF
files for CD burning and a link to further help with CD burning itself (which
has to be done with software other than Audacity).
We also recommend you visit the documentation page on our website:
You will find there various online and downloadable help resources, including
* a Quick Reference Guide. This is also in the program itself
at Help > Contents and explains all the program menus and controls.
* a full Manual (which is the above Quick Reference plus additional
guides and tutorials)
* a Wiki containing further tips and tricks. This has its own collection
of tutorials for performing everyday tasks in Audacity:
* links to other tutorials and to Frequently Asked Questions:
You can also enter search terms in the Search box top right of most
audacity.sourceforge.net pages and find all Audacity documents containing
your search terms.
The Manual is also available in .PDF format which is much easier to print:
To read or print PDF documents you need a PDF reader such as Adobe
Note that the Manual recommends at:
splitting tracks for your CD into separate audio tracks in the Audacity window
but this is because the Manual is out of date and is being rewritten. The most
convenient method to split tracks is that given on the Wiki link at the top of
Outbound message virus free.
