I believe the .deb (which was provided by a user, not the dev team),=20
provides brlterm that sets up your PATH and MANPATH so that BRL-CAD's=20
tools are ready to go. Try running brlterm, then run mged in that xterm=20
window that opens. Otherwise, you'll have to find where the .deb installs=
BRL-CAD to and set you PATH manually.
I've heard a couple Debian users report that they have incompatible=20
versions of Glibc and/or the X11 libraries, so you may still get an error=
running mged. If you do, the best option is to just compile and install=20
BRL-CAD yourself. It would be great to get someone more interested in=20
fully integrating BRL-CAD into apt properly, but alas that has not yet=20
