Hi all,
I've been having some weird problems with xine for a few years now, mainly =
as=20
the xine backend in amarok. Other than general stability issues, I have be=
en=20
having trouble getting xine to play some ogg files, while others play just=
=20
fine. I finally decided to look for some more info since the amarok packag=
e=20
I'm using doesn't have any other backends available, and as a large part of=
=20
my music collection is in ogg format.
I have a short list of what ogg vorbis versions will work in xine, and whic=
h=20
wont:
1.0 RC 2 yes
1.0 yes
1.1.0 RC1 yes
1.0.1 yes
1.0 RC 1 no
1.0 beta 4 no
That is by no means a complete lists. I am sure there were other versions=
=20
packaged for debian/ubuntu. Has anyone else experienced strange problems=20
playing back ogg vorbis files using xine? I am particularly interested in=
=20
whether or not anyone with ogg files encoded with versions 1.0 RC1 and 1.0=
=20
beta4? You can find out what version your ogg files were encoded with by=20
just doing: `file <somefile>`.
I'd like to get some more information from other users before I file this b=
ug=20
with the xine team (or ubuntu, as I'm not sure what their policy on upstrea=
m=20
bugs is).
Thanks in advance for any help.
