perhaps you could suggest to the DeMuDi people to offer Csound5
as part of their distribution (instead of whatever version 4 they might have).

Certainly. I'd like to see them get rid of the old package. Btw, I think 
Fernando is also still packaging an older version in Planet C.

The last time I checked, Planet CCRMA included the 4.24.1 "unofficial"
version if I recall correctly. The same version is included with SuSE,
even in the 10.1 betas. Also, Debian comes with 4.23 (the canonical
version), and that release is still found in the "unstable" branch.
