After removing something from TARGETS, do the following

rm -rf gumstix-buildroot/build_arm_nofpu/root

and then redo the make. The files you see in the root directory is
what gets packed up into the roof_fs_arm_nofpu file that you downlaod
to the gumstix.

You can also manually manipulate files in the build_arm_nofpu/root director=
y.

I added the bridging features using
TARGETS+=bridge bridge-utils
and using buildroot i built the roof_fs_arm_nofpu.

When I load the image on gumstix none of the briding
features work. I need help,anyone had luck with
briding?

Not that I tried it myself, but I think if the bridging binaries are in
the image but refuse to work, probably the bridging support wasn't
selected in the kernel configuration. I think by default it's disabled,
so that should be it. Try reconfiguring the kernel (I guess running
"make menuconfig ARCH=arm" on the kernel build directory should do the
trick, while at the config stuff try selecting networking and looking
for bridging stuff in there), and them trying to generate the image again.

It has been some time since I bridged with
bluetooth
but if I remember right you should have a brctl
binary in the path as well as libbridge library.
Try running brctl.

Hi Alexandre,
Still no luck, When I do a
make maneuconfig ARCH=arm
I am getting the follwing error.
make: *** no rule to make target menuconfig.

David I checked the path I have brctl in the path.
when I do brctl it says "package not installed." brctl
-h (help) does work though.

What directory are you in when you do this?

It needs to be done from within the linux directory:
gumstix-buildroot/build_arm_nofpu/linux2.6.11gum

I was actually wondering if it was possible to compile
tinyX for the gumstix. I've been doing a minimal
amount of searching, like TUCOWS, etc, and they all
come with pre-compiled .gz archives. 

I wanted to load the tinyX program files onto the MMC.
I have the mmc ready to recieve files, but I'm having
some trouble with tinyX. What I have done is quite
Newby, but I added TARGETS+=tinyx to the makefile, did
'make', then took the resulting X11R6 in the root
folder and rz'ed it over to the gumstix's MMC. 

Upon running Xfbdev i get the error that no
touchscreen is present. Have I totally goofed by just
transferring files over? I figured that since it did
not horribly crash when I ran Xfbdev, I might be on
the right track. 

Any takers?
