Show Offline Buddies and Show Empty Groups were put in the Buddies menu because they're needed for editing and managing your buddy list: a task that would be more painful if you had to open the prefs dialog to get to it. > Is this just to get rid of a tab in the Preferences dialog? The tab had only two options which make sense in the Buddies menu as well. I do not think moving it to preferences is a good idea. I would tend to guess that I am actually fairly typical in this case, activating it so as to send an offline message, or as an easy way to check logs of offline buddies. Neither use case is facilitated by having it in preferences, both lend themselves well to having it in a menu. luke
