I think I've done that deliberately. As indicated in setup.py you can
adjust installation directories of the shared data and the global
configuration file independendly by that. And I thought this is quite
usefull and it is a documented behaviour of distutils. However, I do
not understand all the side effects caused by that. So I'm open to any
advice from a distutils expert how to handle this issue. Still, I do
not have troubles in running "python setup.py bdist --format rpm" on
my maschine here up to the point, where it involves the rpm command,
which is not available on my maschine. So what's exactly the problem
with the absolute path and the rpm creation? I just want to understand
whether I'm really doing something wrong in the usage of distutils by
that.
