Maybe we should have a centralized "plplot/old" or "plplot/legacy" directory
where we move files like this that are no longer used for anything in the
build, but which are still useful for reference.
There are some other legacy reference files we could collect into one spot
this way as well. What do you think, Rafael?
Andrew, if we go this way, cvs only allows deletion of the old file (or
replacing it with a different file of the same name in this case) and
addition of the old file in the new directory. So you lose track of the
history completely. You can (and should) ameliorate that a bit by saying
where the file is moved to and where it has been moved from in the commit
messages associated with deletion (or replacement in this case) and
