Hi, I have some questions concerning Fluxbox:
1. How can I group xterms? Let me explain on the simple example. I
want to have two tabbed groups, one for plain aterms, and one for
mutts (aterm -e mutt). I would like to have any other xterms (xterm -e
...) ungrouped.
The problem is xprop returns
WM_CLASS(STRING) = "aterm", "XTerm"
for every instance, no matter what is executed with -e. I've invented
quite dirty hack:
ln -s /usr/bin/aterm ~/bin/aterm-group1
which gives me
WM_CLASS(STRING) = "aterm-group1", "XTerm"
But IMO there should be cleaner way to deal with this problem... Maybe
window title recognition? I'm not sure.
2. I would find [icons] menu option very useful, so I can access icons
fast in root menu. It wouldn't be hard to implement this. Is it
possible?
3. Why [stylesmenu] option is not depreciated? One can do the same
with [submenu][stylesdir][end], and [stylesdir] is more flexible.
4. What is the main difference between fluxbox, openbox and blackbox?
I've choosen fluxbox because of tabs, but as user I didn't notice any
additional significant differences. I heard that cooperation with
blackbox maintainer was quite hard, but why not join forces with
openbox? Why duplicate effort?
Regards
