I'm happy that the work on Langband has now gotten a step further:
Langband v0.1.1 is now released.
Langband is the lispier Angband alternative, and is known to work on
Common Lisp systems on Linux and Unix. It is a concept release
showing the roguelike community that it's a project on the right
track.
This release doesn't change a lot of gameplay compared to v0.1, but
sports a brand new UI based on SDL including on-the-fly ASCII/graphics
map change, sound-effects, a useful item-row and configurable themes.
It's a facelift and a fundamental change of how the backend is done,
allowing better configurability of visual features in later versions.
The v0.1.1 should also work with not too much effort on Windows and a
downloadable Windows-bundle will be provided at a later stage (if
there is demand).
