Removing it from the default build doesn't mean we couldn't have a
BUILD_VGUI flag. A vaste majority of the 'vxl doesn't build' messages
around the place relate to vgui, and whilst it is generally possible to
solve these problems relatively easily, it does leave a bad impression
with those that just wanted to try out vnl and some other command-line
stuff. People planning on using a GUI are going to expect to have
GTK/OpenGL/FLTK/YOUNAMEIT issues, and they won't expect vxl to build
first time round once they enable the BUILD_VGUI flag.
P.S. As far as I know, not many people in Oxford use VGUI anymore :).
