I would like to cast another vote the standard X syntax, eg:
Lots of folks have some fixed screnery and widgets etc around one or more edges of their
screen, and this would make us fairly happy. Currently I'm using my FVWM Maximise function
for full screen, which sizes to "most" of the screen.
