I don't know if I understood your problem correctly, but it seems that
it is that bbtools only use ~/.blackboxrc to take the style info and
when you only update ~/.fluxbox/init then the style of the bbtools
doesn't change too.
If this is your problem, you can solve it simply by moving your old
.blackboxrc to some other thing (such as .blackboxrcbk) and then
symlink'ing .blackboxrc to .fluxbox/init (ln -s ~/.fluxbox/init
