After many tribulations, sbcl-0.7.0 has finally been released.
Sort of. There's this (last?) tribulation...
If you look on the SourceForge summary page, you will see a 0.7.0
release superseding the old 0.6.13 release. Woo hoo! If I look at the
administrator's view of the 0.7.0 release, the files are even there.
Unfortunately, the user's view of the 0.7.0 says there are no files
there, which kinda takes the fun out of distributing software this
way.
I don't know when I'll be able to get this to work. SourceForge no
longer provides anonymous FTP distribution, so things are kinda
stalled until I do. Meanwhile I'm making this announcement so you know
(1) 0.7.0 exists, I'm just having some problems physically delivering
it, and (2) if the new 0.7.0 entry in the releases section doesn't
work for you, you're not alone.
I suspect the hangup is some new mandatory size constraints on the
notes and change logs associated with releases. I'll take another shot
at that tomorrow, both directly and through the SF bugs and support
system. Meanwhile, if things stay stalled too long for you, you can
grab the new sources from CVS. And if things stay stalled too long for
me, I might hotwire some way to distribute the software through
SourceForge HTTP.
