Oh darn... What hardware supports larger "hardware overlay", nvidia and
I guess vidix supports both of these, but nvidia would also give me XvMC and
reduce CPU load.
Can someone with a nv or radeon card confirm that they can display a higher
resolution than X11 is currently running at (i.e downscaling in h/w)?
If someone has more detailed information about the Vidix drivers for nv and
radeon, their features, shortcomings etc, I'd like to hear about it. The vidix
website doesn't give much away :)
Or is the Xv driver as good as, or better than vidix for these cards?
