Before knowing this, I started a little project called febrl-gen, an open
source, Java-based GUI for creating Febrl record linkage projects.
For every linkage project, febrl-gen has 4 basic sections:
- Select and read 2 text files with comma-separated values
- Define the indexing method and block variables
- Define field comparison functions (not all current comparators available)
- Define classifier for records.
The current version of febrl-gen is still in alpha stage and does not
support one-file deduplication or field standardization. The upcoming GUI
for Febrl will be much more powerful and flexible, leaving febrl-gen like
a child's toy *fortunately*. Anyway, while we expect Febrl 0.4, I would
like to share this little tool with any person interested.
