Re: [Jts-topo-suite-user] vector intersect with geometry? From: Darryn Kozak - 2013-02-27 03:40 Attachments: Message as HTML ```Thanks Martin for confirming the solution. My "vector" is a "ray" in this case. I know the order of magnitude for the geometry so I can create a temporary segment to represent the "ray". PS: I could not figure out how to reply to your message from the browser. I only get the JTS digest in e-mail, and that can take a week or more, so I'm sending a new mail that will likely not be properly threaded. Sorry about that. Maybe I need to use a news reader? *Re: [Jts-topo-suite-user] vector intersect with geometry? * From: Martin Davis - 2013-02-26 04:59 *Attachments:*Message as HTML By "vector" do you mean an infinite line in the plane? Or an infinite ray starting at the origin? In either case, there is nothing directly in JTS which will do this. You have to use the strategy that you outline - i.e. extend the line/ray to a point guaranteed to be outside the geometry envelope, and then use the existing Geometry.intersection(Geometry) method. It might be nice to provide a utility method to handle this... On Mon, Feb 25, 2013 at 8:01 PM, Darryn Kozak wrote: > I have a use case where I have a jts Geometry, and a vector. But you should always be able to send msgs to the JTS list. On Tue, Feb 26, 2013 at 7:39 PM, Darryn Kozak wrote: > > > > Thanks Martin for confirming the solution. I have no other contact details. Could either of you contact me on simon at spatialdbadvisor dot com re the following GeoServer fix: * faster computation of layer bounding box for Oracle data sources when the table is not in the user’s schema ([GEOS-5535]) regards Simon On Wed, 27 Feb 2013 17:49:52 +1100, Martin Davis wrote: > Hmmm... you may have to subscribe to the full message stream to be able to reply to individual messages.
