To help Pierre with a desire to perform a refactoring of some of the
EDE Autoconf file generation, I've rebuilt parts of the integration test
suite, which will affect anyone running those tests.
The integration test now runs 3 independent suites, one for Make (what
it did before), one for Automake (new, but using the same test cycle as
the Make one with a different compilation style), and one for GNUStep
(same as the old one.)
To my surprise, I had never gotten the Autoconf output version of EDE
to work with subprojects. As such, I had to get that fixed, along with
fixing a range of other problems to make this test suite work. I also
had to get the generator streamlined so it would stop asking questions,
and so that it could test if calls to aclocal and such succeeded.
Thankfully, it wasn't that hard.
The new autoconf direct output support now uses configure.ac instead
of configure.in, and I tested against whatever is on my ubuntu system.
It would be great for folks with different kinds of systems to give the
integration tests a try. If you see failures in the Autoconf part, I'll
need advice or patches to fix it. I'll guess some folks don't have
autoconf, so there may need to be some sort of shortcut when it isn't
