Hi all
Alex and I have have been discussing this 'bug':
http://bugs.gramps-project.org/view.php?id=3D230
Basically it hinges on the fact that there are two categories of events,
personal events and family events - it depends on whether the evtn is
attached to a person or a family.
My bug report was that the filters don't find events like 'alternate
marriage and annullment if you search for them in the people view.
That's because those types of events are attached to families and not
people. An interesting example is that the marriage filter in the people
view will find witnesses to the event 'marriage' (because that's a
personal event) without finding the actually marriages.
In my opinion that makes no sense in the real world. The distinction
may be useful to the internal logic of GRAMPS but I don't think it makes
any sense out here in the real world.
We need some more views on this, what do you think?
