I have just discovered, that there is an extensions-error.log file, and
for this reason many extensions are not working.
So I have installed the following debian packages:
apt-get install pstoedit
apt-get install libwmf-bin
apt-get install transfig
apt-get install skencil (this was the biggest, it installed 12MB
additional packages: blt python2.3-imaging python2.3-imaging-tk
So the error log file reduced for the followings:

I have installed inkscape from source via debian commands. And I dont
find any dxf2svg file.
Is this extension supposed to be in inkscape source?
However the following extensions are not working for me:
render->function plotter (no error message)
