TortoiseCVS might be something to consider. I've only used it off and on,
but it seems to install ok and work pretty well. It definitely has DIFF and
there is a menu item for "Make Patch"
MUCH easier to use than WinCVS, imho.
If you decide to go that route, I can provide the parameters I use that are
involved in accessing SourceForge files.
