A new production release for the 2.4 kernel is available on SourceForge.
The version is 3.6.1.
The primary differences between 3.6.1 and 3.4.x are:
- _syscalls are removed from the driver. This removes the persistent
device naming feature, in exchange for making the driver portable to
non-x86 architectures and making the driver more maintainable.
- The system management utilities (iscsi-ls and iscsi-device) are
enhanced to display the WWID of the logical unit and devlabel (if it
exists). This makes it easier to identify devices independently of the
Linux "/dev" name.
- The code and directory structure are reformatted to more closely match
the 4.x driver, to make it easier to maintain.
There will be one final production release of the 3.4 series, after
which all 2.4 iSCSI development will move to the 3.6 branch.
