there's certainly lots of collaboration. I don't expect that there
will be a merge (since we don't have PHBs to impose cost-cutting
measures), but as SBCL gains more features and usability, I expect
that both users and developers will migrate to SBCL, since its code
base has clear advantages over CMUCL's.
For my part, when one day I have some free time to become familiar
with SBCL's sources, I expect that I will start developing for (and
using) SBCL instead of for CMUCL [I hope that scares you guys on the
dark side :-].
