I have an Overo Air COM connected to a Tobi board with an unpowered 2-port
USB hub connected to the USB host interface. I have 2 USB devices connected
to the hub and the whole lot is powered by a Li-po battery. This setup does
everything I require but I am interested in the possibility of further
reducing the overall footprint of this configuration. For this reason it
would be nice if I could use the Pinto board rather than the Tobi (or
However, the Pinto board only has a USB OTG port which I don't think will
power my USB hub and connected devices on its own as the normal USB host
port does (I have tried to do this using a mini-USB to USB converter . So I
was wondering, would it be possible to get round this problem by taking the
USB OTG port off the Pinto and connecting the USB hub's data lines directly
to the board and connecting its power lines directly to the battery?
Has anyone ever tried anything similar before?
