When you write the hardware is broken do you mean the circuit from Gumstix
that is on the wiki or the PXA270 itself?
My customer had two designs done in parallel, one with the Gumstix and one
with a Phytec board. Both with PXA270 and the Phytec board supports both
Host and Client.
Do you by any chance have a demo program for the verdex with the console LCD
vx and Samsung display?
Doesn't have to be anything fancy, just bring the display up.

Actually, currently the PXA270 only supports USB host mode. The client
side driver has been broken for a quite a while and seems unlikely
that it will be fixed (too many problems with the HW).
