I have created and uploaded a new Saxon build, numbered 8.9.9.2, which is
best regarded as an early-access or beta release of what will become Saxon
9.0. You'll find the list of changes in the documentation, which is part of
the resources download listed below.
This has been through only the most basic level of testing, so it shouldn't
be used for anything critical. I'm making it available for two reasons - so
that users who integrate Saxon into their applications can start planning
for 9.0, and so that I can get as many bugs out of the system as possible
before the general release. I'm hoping 9.0 will be ready for release by end
October but it depends how smoothly the testing goes.
At present I'm making the announcement only on the saxon-help list and to a
few selected integrators.
