Thanks Thomas and Sven. You safe me of a double check in docs...
Well try to continue to evolue specs tomorrow. I think we will have =
specs for creation of all objects (tables, indexes, UD domains, =
sequences, and so on) at the end of the next week.
Someone could try to create an Data Editor specs (to override the Form =
window in Sap SQL Studio)? I've some ideas about how it can be =
accomplished (with a TableModel), but I think I'll have no time to do =
My personal Wish List for a Data Editor is:
a) Allow user to specify the query he want's to use. If the query is =
non editable, an Exception will be thrown by ResultSet, and should be =
shown to the user (must be trapped)
b) Detect the datatype of each column throught ResultSetMetaData. We =
will need CellEditors specialized in Date/Time, Numeric (Integer and =
Double) and Character (fixed/variable).
c) Permite the user to update (easy), delete (fairly easy) and insert =
(medium complexity) new data.
I think an excelent data editor is the SQL Enterprise Editor Open Table, =
the allow to edit data directly in the cells. They are updated when user =
change the row or the focus. Exists a blank line at the end of the =
table, that allow you to insert a new record. And, if you select the =
entire row and press Delete button, the record is deleted =
(multi-selection allow multi-delete). To put NULL values in the cells, =
type CTRL-0 (Control Zero).
